Beatrice

My name is Bea. I am a deaconess at the Dieu Vivant Church.

At the beginning I didn’t know I was HIV+. One day I felt ill and I had a fever. I went to the hospital but they told me that I was suffering from malaria. Eight years later though I found that I was getting thinner and thinner though I wasn’t sick. I went for a check-up test. It confirmed that I was HIV+.

When I received the news I wasn’t afraid because of my belief. I went to the church and the pastor prayed for me. Now I am well and at peace. I work at home and walk every day.

I thank God because I can do something. Aids is a bad illness. This is why I need to educte and advise through photographs. I want people to be careful and when they realise that something is wrong with their health to go and have a test. Our photographs must educate people.
